What are the different types of REITs?

In India, there are two types of REITs:

1. Equity REITs: These are REITs that invest in incomegenerating properties such as office buildings, retail centers, hotels, and apartments. They generate income from rental income, lease income, and capital appreciation of the property.

2. Mortgage REITs: These are REITs that invest in real estate debt securities, such as mortgages and mortgagebacked securities. They generate income from the interest paid on the mortgages and mortgagebacked securities.

Both types of REITs can be traded on the stock exchange like stocks.
